ABOUT MS-MEDIAPLAYERProblems with MPEG files and the MS Media Player? If you have installed Microsoft Mediaplayer as the default program for playing MPEG files (and that will be the case, if you have MS Internet Explorer 4.0 or 5.0 installed, and no other MPEG playing software was subsequently installed), then you may experience the following problems with MPEG clips downloaded from the DWW Web Club. As soon as you click on the link to the MPEG clip you want, you get the above error message. Reason is an approved bug of your microsoft mediaplayer software version: tracking number SRX 980 722 602 061, bug number #31612 This problem does not occur in Netscape Navigator! There are 2 possibilities to get round this problem 1) The best
solution. How you do it:
(e.g. DWW-Clips)
TIP: You can also download MPEG clips using the recommended program GO!ZILLA. The advantage of using this program is that if your connection is interrupted, the software knows how much was already downloaded, so it picks up from the interruption, rather than starting all over again.
Then double-click your chosen clip and the Mediaplayer will play it for you. 2) Another method is to
confirm the error message by clicking on "OK" but not to close the program
(i.e., let the program continue). If you then click on the MPEG clips link again,
Mediaplayer should start playing the clip.
